As the first ever Daily Dose, I thought I’d start with a funny picture, as I’ll often be doing. I say ‘funny’, but of course most images featuring alcohol abuse are comically tragic, if they’re comical at all. However…
“It bugs me that normal people with drinking problems are always treated humourlessly by all the earnest quit-drinking websites and resources out there.“
I know where they’re coming from but it’s as though we are all dragging ourselves along the gutter, clutching our empty beer glasses, desperately looking for our next fix and utterly unable to laugh at the ridiculousness of our situation.
Lots of us can still appreciate the irony of what we do to ourselves in the name of, well, I’m not sure what. I’m convinced that if we can realise that drinking too much is inherently stupid we are well on the way to getting back in control of the situation.
So that’ll do for the first Daily Dose! I hope you like the idea, keep on keeping on, and watch out for the next one 😀
