Another, much sadder image I came across as I was looking for today’s pic said ‘My sister’s best guy friend died yesterday from alcohol overdose; how is that shit legal everywhere and marijuana isn’t?! Ridiculous.’
Which pretty much sums up the whole sick situation.
But alcohol, like cigarettes, is utterly entrenched in the world’s society. The way things stand, it would probably require another meteor strike like the one that killed off the dinosaurs to get rid of the stuff.
So, what’s positive in this post? Well, I’ll tell you. The answer to drug addictions in today’s society isn’t out there. But there IS a solution. Just, it’s not ‘out there’, but ‘in there’, inside the very head that’s sitting square on your shoulders today.
By using our incredible, limitless intelligence (ok, there are always exceptions 😉 we can beat any addiction by just using our brains, or what’s left of them.
We can always bounce back. Maybe we can’t always do it on our own, but there are many people and resources out there that can help. Like this newsletter and the Drunken Dodo website just to name a couple.
You can beat it much more easily than you think. Do some research. Discuss with others. Seek friendly, non-judgemental help. The future is in your hands and, even more importantly, in your head if you want it.
